But with barcode or without - everyone is of course always welcome. We say official as there were at least a couple more included in the "unknowns" who we will officially welcome when they bring their printed barcodes. Three of our bar-coded finishers were brand new to parkrun:Ĭon DUFFIN, Jenny DUFFIN, and Heather KIMBLE. This week we officially welcomed 6 first timers to Hoblingwell. We owe an extra special thanks to all the volunteers who went well beyond the call of duty and happily swapped or completed additional roles which allowed the event to go ahead… and particularly to Moy, today’s RD who braved the entire run in the cold as well as setting up the course in the blizzard and then closing down! Well done everyone…

Thanks to Orpington Rugby Club for their hospitality in opening early specially for parkrunners, so we can enjoy hot drinks and refreshments after the run. St Patrick is famed for banishing snakes from Ireland this weekend all self-respecting reptiles were snug underground and our trademark crows huddled together against the driving snow.īut undeterred, 34 runners, joggers and walkers braved the elements in stoical spirit and completed today’s Hoblingwell parkrun. If the Irish Run Director was wearing shamrocks, they were hidden under multiple scarves and layers. This year, white was the only colour in evidence at Hoblingwell. It's traditional to wear green on St Patrick's Day. Wow, blizzard conditions today! It’s fair to say that it was touch and go as to if we could parkrun today… Not because of fog we had 2 weeks ago in the aftermath of the “Beast from the East”, but because of a mini blizzard that hit during the course set up and just as it was about to start. Since then 1,340 participants have completed 3,224 parkruns covering a total distance of 16,120 km, including 669 new personal bests. Hoblingwell parkrun started on 15th July 2017. The female record is held by Morgan SQUIBB who recorded a time of 18:51 on 5th May 2018 (event number 43). The event was made possible by 15 volunteers: Representatives of 14 different clubs took part. This week 105 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 22 were first timers and 28 recorded new personal bests. If you'd like to gain new skills as a hi-viz hero - and hear your name on the roll call of honour - please do sign up to volunteer.

Please feel free to add any that you have taken! Photos of today's event can be found in our album: A total of 437 individuals have volunteered 3,020 times. Since then 3,064 participants have completed 12,887 parkruns covering a total distance of 64,435 km, including 2,067 new Personal Bests. The Age Grade course record is held by Clare ELMS who recorded 89.66% (19:40) on 20th January 2018 (event number 28). The female record is held by Niamh BRIDSON HUBBARD who recorded a time of 18:35 on 1st September 2018 (event number 60). The male record is held by Lewis MILLS who recorded a time of 16:27 on 17th February 2018 (event number 32).
